ABSTRACT: There is consensus among many companies in Brazil that most sports sponsorships do not reach the expected return. Among the factors mentioned the organizations are not able to participate in these decisions of sports organization. In this context, co-management is presented as a strategy to manage the investment. This study aims to analyze the co-management as manager of sports sponsorship. For this, the object of study was the two main cases of co-management developed in Brazilian sport area: Empresa Alimentícia Parmalat - Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras e Unimed-Rio - Fluminense Football Club. Analyzing the processes of co-management, there was the commitment of stakeholders to the pre-established goals. However, procedures of correct selection of partners, the definition of rights and duties, among other actions, must to accompany its implementation. Finally, although yield significant returns, the parties must avoid a dependency on the process, whether the financial resources of the investor or the image of the sports organization.
